FluxCap encodes domain expertise and transformational technical architecture to deliver infrastructure and scale for lawyers serving public and private plaintiffs
WASHINGTON, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Former Justice Department antitrust leaders Jonathan Kanter and Doha Mekki today unveiled FluxCap, a pioneering Deep Legal Tech platform that gives teams of exceptional lawyers the power to litigate at scale without compromising depth or precision. They are joined by former Justice Department and White House officials, and an engineering team led by CTO Marshall Seid that includes many Palantir alumni. FluxCap is built for the most complex and consequential legal work and performs to the exacting standards of deep domain experts and experienced practitioners with proprietary legal reasoning architecture.
Kanter, former Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust, and Mekki, former Acting Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust, saw firsthand how capacity constraints can force lawyers in both private practice and government to forgo meritorious cases. They founded FluxCap to close that gap, giving leading lawyers the tools to confront the hardest legal issues.
Like a premier law firm, FluxCap is organized around deep domain expertise in specific practice areas, beginning with antitrust. FluxCap puts the case at the center of the work and reasons through it the way an expert lawyer does.
Three proprietary engines for the facts, law, and strategy of a case work together to develop and maintain a complete, dynamic understanding of each matter. FluxCap brings that understanding to every task, enabling more sophisticated and precise work from initial research and evidence analysis through complaint drafting, discovery, and deposition preparation. It helps lawyers uncover details and connections that might otherwise go unnoticed, identify gaps in the evidence, and challenge opposing arguments as they refine their strategy.
FluxCap becomes an extension of great lawyers and their teams, expanding their reasoning, testing their assumptions, and contributing new ideas. As the case evolves, it captures their experience, strategy, and know-how and infuses them into the work product itself, so the work moves faster and the substance gets stronger. It amplifies what sets them apart, making great lawyers more themselves, not more alike.
FluxCap puts lawyers at the center and builds verification into every step. The platform lets a small team do far more without surrendering judgment or control. Every fact, case citation, and conclusion is open to review and audit, so lawyers can verify the work for themselves.
“At the highest level, legal practice demands deep, specialized expertise. It isn’t one-size-fits-all, and legal technology shouldn’t be either,” said Jonathan Kanter, co-founder of FluxCap. “FluxCap understands the work, knows what it takes to win, and is built to the standard we held ourselves to at the Justice Department. It gives a small team of great lawyers the firepower to take on opponents many times their size.”
“Harder fights need better tools,” said Doha Mekki, co-founder of FluxCap. “Too often, meritorious cases never get brought because of the time, expense, and resources required to investigate and litigate well. That gap affects everyone who depends on the legal system, including working families and businesses of all stripes. We’re building FluxCap to help close the gap and deliver the infrastructure lawyers need to litigate cases at scale.”
Seid, FluxCap’s chief technology officer, was previously a tech lead at Palantir and CTO of Quiller. He now leads a team of fellow Palantir alumni who built the platform side by side with former senior DOJ antitrust enforcers, pairing elite engineering talent with elite legal expertise. The founding team also includes Chief Operating Officer Alejandro Molina; Chief Legal Officer Andrew Bloom; Senior Advisor Susan Athey; Founding Legal Engineers Mimi Vishio, Dave Lawrence, Andy Forman and John Sullivan; Founding Engineers Neel Virdy, Matthew Vermaak and Michael Wang; Legal Analysts Talia Sherman and Andrew Imbens; and Operations Director Dawn Forrester.
After more than a year in stealth development, FluxCap launches with $6.4 million in seed funding from Y Combinator, Bloomberg Beta, Deep Work Capital, Coalition Operators, Burford Capital, and Omidyar Network.
“FluxCap brings together an exceptional combination of legal expertise and engineering talent to tackle a problem that has long challenged the legal profession,” said Garry Tan at Y Combinator. “Jonathan, Doha, and the team understand the demands of complex litigation and are building technology that connects legal knowledge, evidence, and strategy to help lawyers take on some of the most challenging cases.”
“A lot of technology automates how an average person would do something,” said Roy Bahat at Bloomberg Beta. “FluxCap takes the work that extraordinary counsel can provide, enabled by building genuine technology from the ground up, and brings it to their clients.”
FluxCap is available today to law firms, in-house legal departments, and government enforcers, offering research licenses, deep case support, and enterprise solutions. Additional practice areas are already under development. FluxCap’s mission is to build the infrastructure for justice. Learn more at fluxcap.com
