The Los Angeles center keeps addiction clients in their own PHP and IOP groups and offers virtual care anywhere in California.
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, November 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — As October, a month traditionally observed as National Substance Abuse Prevention Month, comes to an end, Los Angeles-based Lifescape Recovery is describing its outpatient treatment for adults who want help with alcohol or drug use before it gets worse. Outpatient care can be an effective option for people who do not need 24-hour supervision, according to Lifescape, and some clients enter its Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) directly without an inpatient stay.
Lifescape runs its addiction PHP and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) apart from its mental health and eating disorder programs, with separate rooms and group leaders. Substance use clients are never mixed with mental health clients. Lifescape’s addiction care covers alcohol, cocaine, methamphetamines, opioids and prescription drugs, plus sex and gambling addiction. Clinicians treat any co-occurring mental health condition alongside the addiction.
Lifescape’s partial hospitalization program in Los Angeles runs six hours a day, five days a week, and clients go home each evening. Clients in IOP, the next level down, spend three hours a day in treatment on three to five days a week. Both levels have morning, afternoon and evening tracks. PHP group sessions cover coping skills and relapse prevention, with psychiatric check-ins and medication management added as clinically indicated.
Lifescape’s outpatient drug treatment in Los Angeles usually combines individual therapy, group sessions, psychiatric support and planning to prevent relapse. The clinical approach is trauma-informed. Therapy methods include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. In alcohol rehab in Los Angeles, clients use CBT to identify and change the thought patterns behind drinking and build a plan for staying sober.
Within three days of starting, each client has a written treatment plan, and clinicians update it every week. A psychiatrist sees each new client in the first week. The assigned care team includes a dedicated therapist and case manager, along with a recovery mentor and a psychiatric team. Medication management can ease cravings when appropriate.
Virtual PHP and IOP are available anywhere in California. Clients can also choose a hybrid schedule of online sessions and in-person days at the North Vermont Avenue center. Lifescape staff assist with paperwork for employer and medical leave, as well as school leave documents for students.
Lifescape’s clinicians view a relapse as a sign that the treatment plan may need adjusting. Once treatment ends, graduates can attend weekly alumni meetings organized by a dedicated coordinator, who also provides aftercare support.
Lifescape is in network with most major carriers, among them Aetna, Anthem, Beacon Health Options, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Shield of California, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, ComPsych, Curative, Health Net, Kaiser Permanente, Magellan Health, Managed Health Network (MHN), Motion Picture Industry Health Plan (MPI), Optum, SAG-AFTRA Health Plan, Sharp Health Plan, Sutter Health, Tricare, Tricare Reserve Select, TriWest, UMR, and UnitedHealthcare. Admissions staff can be reached 24 hours a day and offer a free, same-day consultation. The benefits check is also free and same-day, with the out-of-pocket cost explained before anyone commits. In many cases, treatment can begin the day someone first calls. The admissions line is (323) 690-1187.
