Solen Software Group, a permanent capital partner to mission-critical software companies, today announced an investment partnership with Teletask Inc., the two-way messaging platform that WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) and public health agencies use to reach families by text, voice, and email. Teletask supports public health agencies in more than 35 states, including WIC agencies serving over three million participants, and delivers more than 100 million messages a year.
Over Three Decades of Helping Public Health Agencies Reach Families
Norm Rees founded Teletask in 1989 to build inbound voice and automated dialing systems for large organizations and government agencies. Brian Rees joined the company in 2014 and led its move to a SaaS client engagement platform, growing Teletask into a national provider. Today the company serves WIC agencies, state and local public health departments, and immunization programs across the country.
The platform covers the full agency workflow, including two-way texting, text message appointment reminders, voice and email campaigns, scheduling, web surveys, document upload, and e-signature. It runs over standard SMS, so participants never need to download an app to get a reminder or reply to their agency. Families stay connected using the phone they already have. Teletask has earned its national footprint in one of the most compliance-sensitive areas of public health technology.
Why Teletask Chose a Permanent Capital Partner
“We chose Solen because we wanted a long-term partner for Teletask. Solen has the backing to invest in our product and our team. We want decisions to stay close to the people who know our customers, and we want to keep improving what we’ve built,” said Brian Rees, CEO of Teletask.
A Permanent Home for Mission-Critical Public Health Software
“Teletask has already reinvented itself once. Norm built the company on voice and automated dialing, and Brian led its move to a modern SaaS platform while keeping public agencies at the center of the business. A team that can make that shift and keep its customers close is a team we want to partner with for decades,” said Will Nouse, Director of M&A at Solen Software Group.
Teletask will continue operating with autonomy. Solen provides permanent capital and optional shared services so the Teletask team can stay focused on the agencies and families it serves and on continued platform development.
