Delano, PA – September 02, 2026 – The Lofty Road corridor is no longer a quiet industrial backroad. It is one of Pennsylvania’s most watched digital-infrastructure battlegrounds.

Amazon Web Services has put that fact on the map. In neighboring Kline Township, AWS has advanced plans for a multi-hundred-acre data center campus off Lofty Road and Haddock Street, near Interstate 81 and Route 309. Public reports describe a site of roughly 346 to 390 acres, purchased in 2025 for about $178 million, with nine to ten data hall buildings plus support facilities totaling more than 2 million square feet — and in some accounts up to about 2.5 million square feet. The proposal has drawn packed hearings, questions on water, power, traffic, and noise, and an extended township review window into late September 2026. Nothing of that campus is built yet. The spotlight is already there.

Axiom Core is stepping into that spotlight with a different offer: a compact, already-owned campus on the same Lofty Road corridor.

This week the company launched plans for a full-scale data center campus on the 30-acre certified industrial site it already owns at 599 Lofty Road, Delano, Pennsylvania. Founded in 2025, Axiom Core describes the project as the first full-scale data center campus of this size under African American ownership. It is not an Amazon project, not a joint venture, and not a satellite of AWS. It is an independent campus designed to capture the same market moment — AI load, I-81 access, PPL territory, industrial land — at a scale local officials and residents can actually absorb.

Public reporting on the AWS proposal in Kline Township points to a campus of roughly 346 to 390 acres, nine to ten data halls plus support buildings, and about 2.1 to 2.5 million square feet. The land was acquired in 2025. Plans remain under township review.

Located in PPL Electric Utilities territory — the same utility landscape serving the broader Lofty Road buildout — the project will pursue a dedicated interconnection and is structured so incremental power-infrastructure costs are borne by the project itself. That design is intended to protect residential and local ratepayers from cost shifts associated with new large loads. Water use will be minimized through free-air cooling and closed-loop systems, with transparent reporting to local authorities.
