ABOUT THE BEATIFICATION
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen was one of the most influential Catholic evangelists and media figures of the 20th century. Known to millions through his radio broadcasts and the landmark television program Life Is Worth Living, Sheen pioneered the use of mass media to communicate the Catholic faith to broad audiences.
Sheen, an Illinois native, was ordained a priest in Peoria. However, in order to accommodate the more than 65,000 people expected to attend the beatification mass, the event was moved to St. Louis rather than Peoria. Celebrations before and after the beatification mass will take place in both locations. For more information, visit: https://www.celebratesheen.com.
