TYNGSBORO, MA, UNITED STATES, September 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Demarc Telecom & Utility LLC has been awarded a federal contract by the National Park Service, part of the United States Department of the Interior, to replace the fiber optic backbone serving Boston National Historical Park at the Charlestown Navy Yard.
The project will replace aging and damaged multimode fiber with new OS2 single-mode fiber. The new backbone will improve reliability, increase network capacity, and support the park’s future communications needs.
Demarc’s work includes installing fiber through the existing underground conduit system, performing necessary conduit repairs, terminating and splicing the fiber, and testing every strand. The company will also perform GPS locating and create GIS mapping of the underground conduit routes.
